Deadly Motor Vehicle Accident Reported in Camden

CAMDEN, Tenn. — THP officials confirm one person is dead after a car accident on Hwy 70 Tuesday afternoon. The accident happened around 1:45 p.m. near CSC Recycling in Camden. According to troopers, a man and woman were traveling westbound on Hwy 70 near Camden. The man, identified as Daniel Jackson, 24, was driving a 2012 Ford Fusion when he drifted into the lane of oncoming traffic. Troopers say he struck a wrecker in the eastbound lane head-on. Jackson was killed in the accident, and the passenger in his car was transported via medical helicopter to Vanderbilt. She is in critical condition. The driver and passenger of the wrecker were also injured. According to the accident report, all of the passengers in the cars were wearing seatbelts.
