JACKSON, Tenn.-Jackson-Madison County’s school superintendent was the special guest at the Jackson Rotary Club, Wednesday. Dr. Verna Ruffin talked about her first year in the Jackson-Madison County School System. Ruffin talked about the progress she said the school system has made since she started last July. “I believe that we’ve made progress. I believe that it’s probably a little slower than I would like for it to be, simply because we have a lot of work to do. But I do believe that we’ve made some progress this very first year and it feels like we’re beginning to move in the right direction,” said Dr. Verna Ruffin, Superintendent of Jackson-Madison County Schools. Dr. Ruffin said the school system does want to hear from you about future plans for reorganization. However, she did not give a specific date when they plan to have the public meetings.
