Deputies: Drugs, Infant Child Found in Car During Traffic Stop

DOWNTOWN JACKSON — A Jackson dad is jailed after his infant child is found in the car during a traffic stop that ended with the discovery of drugs, deputies say. Early Sunday morning, Madison County deputies pulled over Tremont Cross, 23, for driving 45 mph in the left lane of interstate 40. According to deputies, the car smelled of marijuana when they stopped him, and found marijuana and prescription pills on Cross. Also in the car was his 1 year-old son. Cross was charged with Child Abuse or Neglect, Manufacturing/Delivering/Selling/Possession of Controlled Substance, Schedule II Drug Violations, Schedule IV Drug Violations and Driving on Revoked/Suspended License The infant was released to a family friend.
