BROWNSVILLE, Tenn. — Two historic areas in West Tennessee are one step closer to possibly being added to the National Registry of Historic Places. According to leaders with the Tennessee Historical Commission, the state review board recommended The College Hill and the North Washington Historic Districts, both in Brownsville. The nominations will now be sent into the national register office for a final review. If approved, property owners would be notified of the listings in about 60 days.
