Burglary Suspect Arrested After Pawning Stolen Item

DENMARK, Tenn. — A Denmark man has been charged in a residential burglary on Crescent Avenue after pawning the stolen item. Aaron Pearson, 31, of Denmark, was arraigned at 8 a.m. Thursday in Jackson City Court on two counts of aggravated burglary, theft and an unrelated failure to appear warrant out of City Court. Pearson’s bond was set at $10,000, and his next scheduled court appearance is June 5 at 9:30 a.m. in City Court. Around 1 p.m. Wednesday, a man was at his home in the 300 block of Crescent Ave. when he saw a stranger inside his garage. The stranger was leaving the garage with the homeowner’s lawn mower. The homeowner yelled at the intruder, and he put the mower down and left heading toward Wisdom and Campbell Street. The homeowner checked his garage and noticed that his tiller was missing. The homeowner then went looking for the intruder he had seen in his garage. While searching for the intruder, the homeowner flagged down an officer who was patrolling in the area of W. Grand and Campbell Street. Officers checked the area and determined that Aaron Pearson had pawned the tiller at a nearby pawnshop for $60. Investigators determined that Pearson was the person who had twice entered the homeowner’s garage and had stolen the tiller. Pearson was arrested around 1:30 p.m. in the 900 block of N. Highland Avenue. Police also determined that Pearson had an outstanding failure to appear out of City Court for him failing to serve 45 days in jail for driving offenses. At the arraignment, Judge Blake Anderson ordered Pearson to serve the jail time.
