Relay for Life Events Offer Message of Hope

LEXINGTON, Tenn.-Several towns are hosting Relay for Life events all to raise money in the fight against cancer. In Lexington, at Beech Lake hundreds turned out for fun as well as a time to reflect and pay honor those who have survived cancer and remember those who died from this disease. Another town hosting a Relay for Life event was Medina in Gibson County at Medina City Park. Organizers of both events said Relay for Life brings people together and offers a message of hope. “We just want them to know that there is help out there for people with cancer and we want to recognize survivors and show our community that relay for life is doing well,” said Leslie Arnett of Lexington Relay for Life. “I hope that they see that there is a way for us to find a cure and we need to keep finishing the fight and one day we wont have to lose any more loved ones to this awful disease,” said Valerie White of Medina Relay for Life. Participants in both towns will have a night filled with events that will last into early Saturday morning.
