“Rockabilly Rascals” Vie for Race Title

DOWNTOWN JACKSON — The grownups were not the only ones vying for a title at the Gran Prix. WBBJ got an up close look Sunday afternoon as kids up to 10 years old, competed in the Rockabilly Rascals Kid Race. Dozens of kids pulled out their bikes to partially go around The Lift center. The director of the race says this is the first year for the Rascal Race. The rascal race winner was 8-year-old Jett Hardin, who says this was his very first bike competition. “I just wanna thank this bike race for letting me be in here, getting 1st place and I wanna thank my dad for helping me train,” Hardin said. Hardin says he trained by beating his dad in a practice race. Coordinators say all the kids got a t-shirt and a metal.
