Bill Bates Forever in Debt to FCA
JACKSON, Tenn. — Former Tennessee Volunteer Bill Bates wasn’t always on the right path. Bates told members of Fellowship of Christian Athletes at Jackson that his life was going in the wrong direction at one point. “If it wasn’t for Ken Sparks at Farraguat High School, I would have ended up in jail,” said Bates. Fortunately for Bates, life after high school had a tremendous upside to it. He went on to play for 15 seasons in the NFL and ended up with three Super Bowl rings. “Dreams do come true. The FCA makes so much of a difference in people’s lives.”
