TBI releases report on domestic violence statewide

NORTH JACKSON — Domestic violence rates have dropped in Tennessee, according to the TBI.
A report released on Tuesday says this is the greatest year to year decrease
More than 200,000 domestic violence victims were reported. There were 5.7 percent fewer offenses compared to 2.9 percent in 2012
“It means that the efforts that we have been putting forward as a community are working to address the issues of domestic violence in the home in the school in the community,” Daryl Chansuthus, WRAP said.
The director of WRAP (Women’s Resources and Rape Assistance Program in Jackson) says the report shows their work has not been in vain.
