Snail mail delays TBI investigation into former sheriff sex tape

DOWNTOWN JACKSON — The TBI has not launched an investigation into the sex tape featuring David Woolfork and his mistress because they haven’t received the official request yet. According to District Attorney General Jerry Woodall, the request to the TBI was sent through snail mail, meaning it won’t arrive to the Nashville TBI headquarters until later this week. On Tuesday, Woodall and Jackson police chief Gil Kendrick came to the decision that an independent agency such as the TBI should pursue the investigation. Woodall also recused himself from this case, if there is one. Woolfork and his attorney Mark Donahoe formally requested on Monday that Deputy Sharon Sangster and Constable Frankie Lax be investigated because they believe the pair allowed the sex tape to be seen by others. Woolfork says the tape was taken without his knowledge.
