New Pest Threatens Fruit Crops in TN

MILAN, Tenn.- West Tennessee fruit growers beware of a new pest. Experts with the University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture said you should look out for tiny new pest that can cause significant damage to many fruit crops. A vinegar fly, also know as a fruit fly has reached 23 Tennessee counties, from Greene County in the east to Gibson County in the west. To keep the bugs away experts recommend setting traps within fruit crops baited with yeast, sugar and water.
