Jackson attorney facing drug, prostitution charges

DOWNTOWN JACKSON — A Jackson attorney charged with possessing crack cocaine, drug paraphernalia and patronizing prostitution is now free on $2,500 bond. Police say they arrested Stephen Brooks on Friday night at his home on an outstanding warrant. Officers reported finding crack cocaine, more than a dozen crack pipes, a shot gun and three handguns in his home. Brooks’ attorney Colin Morris released the following statement to WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News: “Mr. Brooks pleads not guilty. This stems from an incident in July of 2012. He would ask respectfully that no one rush to judgement until all the facts are out.
