Organizers say annual Crimestoppers golf tournament a success

NORTHEAST MADISON COUNTY — Dozens of sponsors came together to raise money to end crime on Monday afternoon. Modern Woodmen of America and West Tennessee Healthcare sponsored the 20th Annual Crimestoppers Golf Tournament. The tournament, held at Jackson National Golf Club, featured more than 20 teams of golf players. Most of the teams were sponsored by a local company or individuals who have made donations to Crimestoppers. “We have a lot of teams this year, we went over by three,” Lt. Mike Johnson said. “We usually only have 25 so we increased every year and hopefully we’ll raise over $20,000.” The money raised will go toward rewards offered to anonymous callers who help solve crimes.
