Henderson County deputies searching for three burglars

HENDERSON COUNTY, Tenn. — Deputies say three burglars rushed into Reagan Cafe early Saturday morning, ransacking the business. The owner, Bull Mayo, said this is the second time the cafe has been hit in less than a year. “It’s not only upset the owners, it’s upset the employees, the customers. They can’t believe anybody would do this, especially twice, to us,” Mayo said. According to the Henderson County Sheriff’s Department, around 2:30 a.m. Saturday, nearly $200 in cash and the register drawer were taken. The back door was also broken. The owner said surveillance video from the restaurant shows three suspects going through each room. “They were looking for something in particular. They went through all the freezers, coolers, anything refrigerated,” Mayo said. He said he has had bars on the windows and doors since before he was burglarized last year. Mayo said he believes at least one of the burglars was familiar with the setup of the business, and knew how to break in. “We’re gonna fix that, make it a little more difficult this time. I thought I had it last time but when you want in, it’s hard to keep a thief out,” Mayo said,.”We try to keep our prices cheap as best we can, you know but this makes it difficult. We not have to suffer the brunt of this.” If you know anything about this burglary or saw anything suspicious in the Reagan area that night, call the Henderson County Sheriff’s Department at (731) 968-7777.
