Traffic rerouted after accident on 45 Bypass
UPDATE at 4:18 p.m.– The southound lane is opened. WEST JACKSON — Police are rerouting traffic after an afternoon accident involving a van and a motorcycle closes two lanes. It happened on the Highway 45 Bypass in between Hollywood and Airways Blvd. around 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Police are rerouting traffic in the southbound lanes back up north. According to eyewitnesses, a motorcyclist swerved out of the way to avoid hitting a van. The biker was loaded into an ambulance, but it did not leave with its emergency lights on. A friend of the biker on the scene told WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News that he doesn’t believe the victim in the accident was too badly injured.
