Legislators urge resignation of Tennessee education commissioner

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Fourteen state legislators released a signed letter and issued a statement calling on Tennessee Education Commissioner Kevin Huffman to resign. In the letter they say Huffman failed to address the doubts from teachers and parents by insisting on the complete adoption and implementation of common core. During the past session, Huffman was under increasing pressure from both democrats and republicans for a host of education reforms he’s pushed since his arrival.
