Suspected rapist in custody thanks to WBBJ viewer

HUMBOLDT, Tenn. — A suspected rapist is now is custody after police say a WBBJ viewer tipped them off to his location. Marquaz Dreshun Pettigrew, 18, was arrested after a caller told police they had seen Pettigrew on the news. Pettigrew was wanted by the Humboldt Police Department on a charge of Rape stemming from an incident at a Humboldt motel on May 24. He will be transferred to the Gibson County Jail on Thursday morning. HPD says it would like to thank the citizens who are willing to step forward and give information to make Humboldt a safer place to live.
