NORTH JACKSON — The surf is up for a shaved ice business and the young masterminds behind the parlor will serve icy treats all day Saturday. The creators of Surf’s Up shaved ice are 15-year-old Grace Bates and 13-year-old Madeline Miles. The cousins started out with a lemonade stand four years ago. On, Saturday, the girls will sell 40 flavors of shaved ice from their green trailer. Half of all proceeds that day will go to the Exchange Club Carl Perkins Center for prevention of child abuse. The sales start at noon and end at 9 p.m.
