SOUTH MADISON COUNTY — Hundreds of people came to Madison County Saturday to take a dive in the mud for a good cause. The 6th annual Mudfest was held for former Jackson Christian School coach Bryan Britt. Britt was diagnosed with Central Hypoventilation Syndrome and restrictive heart disease. The mudfest was put on by Matthew Outdoor Living and local sponsors. People could be seen taking a ride on four wheelers, smashing into mud pits and swimming in the muddy water holes. “Everybody gives, it’s been going on for two or three months to prepare for it or longer,” Donnie Matthews said, owner of Matthews Outdoor Living. “People have really come together, it amazes me how good people really are.” The event was free to the public. Vendors sold hot dogs, hamburgers, barbeque and prize tickets.
