Kidnapping Suspect Arrested in Henderson County Identified

JACKSON, Tenn.- New information about the kidnapping of a 16-year-old West Tennessee girl early this morning. Ma’quarious Cathey is jailed on five counts including aggravated kidnapping and carjacking. Investigators said around 12:15 a.m. Monday he kidnapped the girl at knife-point in the parking lot of Walmart in Oakland. The girl’s boyfriend called 911. Officers chased them until they crashed on I-40 in Henderson County. Cathey took off running but was captured just off Highway 104. Investigators say the victim, who was not hurt, did not know Cathey. More charges are expected.
