Smallwood Enters Guilty Plea

CROCKETT COUNTY, Tenn.- A woman accused of taking more than $60,000 from taxpayers entered a guilty plea Monday. Michelle Smallwood plead guilty to felony theft in Crockett County and was sentenced to 6 months of supervised probation. She must also pay $500 restitution and court costs. Smallwood was suspended without pay last October after an investigation by the state comptroller’s office. She worked as the assistant director of the Crockett County Emergency Communications District.
