Thieves tracked down with deer cameras

McNAIRY COUNTY, Tenn. — Suspected thieves in McNairy County are tracked down using a deer infrared camera. Jane Strawn said since her father passed away last year, she has kept a close eye on his property in Adamsville. “It’s very heartbreaking to open it up and scan it and know that someone has been in there and taken some of his stuff. He was a loved man and it’s sad that everything has come to this,” said Strawn. Strawn explained that after she began thinking someone might be able to break into the home or even the shed, she bought deer infrared cameras, and said it might be one of the best purchases she has ever made. The camera in the shed caught images of the men stealing a leaf blower and a battery charger. “It was the best defense I think and best money we ever invested, so we set them up and we check them daily,” explained Strawn. Deputies quickly arrested Ronnie Robinson and Cecil Sanders. “I guess we never thought that we’d be victim to it either. We were just more prepared and when you have a gut feeling about something you go ahead and you go with it,” explained Strawn. Robinson and Sanders will appear in court next month.
