Woman Hospitalized in Fire on Turtle Creek Drive
JACKSON, Tenn.- An early Friday afternoon fire on Turtle Creek Drive in north Jackson leaves one woman hospitalized. Firefighters said she was cooking in the kitchen and left her food unattended to answer the phone. The homeowner said she turned around and her house was filling with smoke. She and her three grandkids were able to get out. Witnesses said two Good Samaritans helped the woman to safety. “They happened to see smoke and her and so they pulled over and helped her get up or whatever and called 911. They just happened to be on this street, they don’t even live in the area,” said Jennifer Rhea, an eyewitness. Witnesses said no one caught the names of the two women who helped the victim. Fire officials said she suffered some minor injuries from the fal and was taken to the hospital by ambulance.
