Family searches for Logan’s kidney match

MILAN, Tenn. — Logan Harris needs a kidney. Everyone within his family who’s able has already been tested, but no one is a match. “It’s devastating, the waiting, there’s no way to describe it,” Logan’s mother Judy Harris said. Her son needed a kidney once before when he was 11 years old. “When he was born he had a non-functioning kidney, and one that didn’t function very well. They thought he would need one immediately, but he lasted until he was 11, and his kidney failed. I was a match so I gave him my kidney,” Judy Harris said. At the age of 31, his kidney has failed again, and no one in the family, including his wife Brittany, is a match. Now they’re reaching out to the community in every way they can, to find a donor who could save Logan’s life. “It would mean everything to us, and I keep saying there is a kidney out there. We only need one. What if you were a match and didn’t get tested?” said Logan’s mother. That’s why she’s asking strangers and friends to consider a quick test to see if you could be the one to give Logan his life back – a life as a farmer, husband, and son. “We would be eternally grateful to anyone that would,” Logan’s mom said. The Harris family says anyone that would like more information is asked to join their Facebook group, ‘A Kidney for Logan’, and can also contact the family.
