HAYWOOD COUNTY, Tenn. — THP has released the names of the four people killed in a fiery car crash in Haywood County last week. Tony Mills, 48, and Kristi Mills, 38, of Bowling Green, KY were killed in the accident on June 25. Chinelo Udezo, 34, of Staten Island, NY and Ifeyinwa Amalum, 33, of Wenham, MA were also killed. In the 5 vehicle accident, a previous wreck slowed down traffic on the westbound side of 1-40. According to the accident report and to witnesses on the scene, a semi-truck driven by Tony Mills did not slow down with traffic and impacted the back of the Udezo’s Lexus, killing him and Amalum on the scene. This impact caused a chain reaction involving three other cars. Four other people were injured, and one person walked away from the crash. The report says speed was a factor in the accident, but seatbelts would not have made a difference. According to the accident report, no charges have been filed or citations been issued.
