Jackson man sentenced for aggravated statutory rape of a minor

MADISON COUNTY, Tenn. — A Jackson man convicted of aggravated statutory rape of a minor was sentenced to six years in prison on Monday. A jury found Jestin Knox, 31, guilty in May after investigators say he raped a 17-year-old family friend. The investigation began after the girl’s mother learned about the incident and alerted police in April 2013. It was determined that on March 26, Knox picked the girl up from her house and took her to his Jackson home where the two engaged in a sex act. Knox will be eligible for parole after he serves 35 percent — or around two years — of his term.
