Summer extravaganza and scholarship banquet

Lashall Moore and Dr. Teresa Moore stopped by Good Morning West Tennessee Thursday, July 10 discuss some upcoming events. The first event is this coming weekend in Selmer. It’s the first Summer Extravaganza Car and Bike Show. Money from the show goes to buying school supplies for students who need them. The car show will be from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. and winners will be announced at 3 p.m. Registration begins at 10. There will be a 3 on 3 basketball and volleyball games for adults. And for the kids there will be activities like face painting, a dunking booth, bounce houses and swimming. The event is at Selmer City park at is from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The second event is the Mary Lou Johnson scholarship banquet. It is on Sunday, August 2, 2014 at the Selmer Civic Center from 6 to 8 p.m. The money from the banquet goes to helping students attend college. Admission to the banquet is $15 for individuals and $25 for couples. Children 18 and under and adults 60 and older get in free.
