Candidates meet voters in forum, discuss qualifications
JACKSON, Tenn.-Four candidates up for election in August were invited by the Jackson Area Business and Professional Women’s Organization to talk about why they deserve to be elected. The candidates gathered at South Street Comedy Club for Monday night’s forum. Current Circuit Court Judge Nathan Pride and his opponent Kyle Atkins both gave statements about their qualifications and faced questions from the audience. Both candidates told WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News why they think they are the man for the job. “I have true experience in the job. Having done it for the past two years. I’m fair, I’m impartial and I have the judicial temperament to continue that job for the next eight years,” said current Circuit Court Judge Nathan Pride. “Well, I think I have a work ethic, I think I have a demeanor, I think I have a temperament for being on the bench and I think I have a passion for being in circuit court and helping people,” said Kyle Atkins, candidate for circuit court judge. Election Day IS August 7.
