JEA: Brief power outage caused by substation failure
JACKSON, Tenn.- About 400 JEA customers found themselves in the dark Thursday night following a brief power outage. The outage affected areas around the Ballpark at Jackson up to Oakfield, according to a JEA spokesperson. The utility said the outage was caused when a lightning arrester at TVA’s Perry Switch substation in south Jackson, failed. The outage lasted less than 40 minutes and power has now been fully restored.
