WEST JACKSON — For the first time, the West Tennessee Business College hosts a youth summit. On Friday, middle school students got lessons about bullying, gang prevention, childhood obesity and healthy eating. WTBC staff says the idea for the summit came from the school’s student ambassadors, and organizers say they hope the students will take what they’ve learned into the community. “Another thing we did was we incorporated math, because once again, our students are challenged in that area as well,” Shelia Ward said, WTBC student life coordinator. Students ended the summit with an art activity. Coordinators say they had 31 participants this year.
