Mistakenly released inmate leads deputies on foot chase

MADISON COUNTY, Tenn. — The man mistakenly released from jail last week is back in custody after a short foot pursuit on Monday. The Madison County Sheriff’s Office arrested Terron Derell Kinnie again on Monday around 7:15 p.m. after they learned he was on Booker Street in East Jackson. According to deputies, Kinnie, 29, fled into the woods but was taken into custody after a short foot pursuit. Kinnie appeared in court on Monday morning on new charges of Resisting Stop, Frisk and Halt. On July 18, Kinnie was accidentally released from the Criminal Justice Complex after a bondsman made a $20,000 bond for the charges of simple possession of marijuana and criminal impersonation. The supervisor on duty did not realize a warrant had been issued for Kinnie out of Madison County Circuit Court for failure to appear for his arraignment on charges of theft and criminal impersonation. No bond had been set on these charges. His next hearing date has been scheduled for Aug. 7 at 1 p.m. in General Sessions Court, Division I.
