TDOT still working to repair damage from winter potholes

NORTH JACKSON — The Tennessee Department of Transportation says the potholes created from this year’s harsh winter are still causing a problem late into the summer. TDOT says there’s no permanent fix to the craters and potholes will likely still develop until the roads are repaved. Usually hot mixes are used to patch up the holes when it’s hot, and cold mixes when it’s chilly. TDOT says they work year round to repair the pesky pothole problem. “We have several million dollars in our routine maintenance budget,” Nichole Lawrence said, Community Relations Officer for TDOT. “And that’s what covers those costs of repairs and repairing the potholes during the year.” Officials say majority of the craters have been temporarily fixed. If you’ve experienced any problems with potholes, contact TDOT.
