Brownsville teen facing rape, sexual battery charges
BROWNSVILLE, Tenn. — A Brownsville teen is in custody and accused of sexually assaulting two women in less than a month. Last month, an inmate jailed at the Haywood County Criminal Justice Complex told staff she had been raped on June 16. The victim told investigators she was not sure who the attacker was, but was able to provide a physical description. On Monday, officers responded to an attempted rape and were able to connect this aggravated sexual battery and aggravated burglary to the previous alleged rape. The juvenile suspect was arrested and transported to the juvenile detention facility and will appear in juvenile court for a detention hearing. The teen is facing charges of aggravated rape, aggravated sexual battery and aggravated burglary.
