DOWNTOWN JACKSON — Campers from all over the Hub City come together for a little fun and competition on Thursday. The annual Jackson Idol competition was held at the Carl Perkins Civic Center. Hundreds of children participating in summer camps were invited to show off their talents on the stage and perform for their fellow campers. One of the participants says his signature moonwalk helped him win a trophy. “I just believed in myself and did what I do best,” 10-year-old Nicholas Donald said. The annual competition is part of the city’s summer camp program each year.
