Man escapes from Dyer County Jail

DYER COUNTY, Tenn. — An inmate is on the run, according to the Dyer County sheriff. Around 2:20 p.m. Thursday, Edward Copeland Jr. ran from the Dyer County Jail while being booked on a burglary charge. Sheriff Box tells WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News he does not believe Copeland is dangerous. He was last seen wearing blue jeans and a gray t-shirt. Anyone with information on Copeland’s whereabouts is asked to contact Dyer County law enforcement. Sheriff Box says Copeland is a white male around 5’5″.
