Search to resume for missing swimmer

HARDIN COUNTY, Tenn. – Efforts to locate a missing swimmer in the Tennessee River in Hardin County were suspended late Wednesday night. According to Hardin County Fire Chief Melvin Martin, they were called to the area near the dam around 3:20 p.m. Witnesses said an adult man had gone down as he swam near a rock pile. Officials have not released his name. A dive crew and six boats were brought out to participate in the search effort. They are scheduled to begin searching the waters again around 7 a.m., Thursday.
