Jackson resident says recent crime is the worst he’s seen in years

EAST JACKSON — After Sunday’s surge of violence, some Jackson residents say this is the most crime they’ve seen in years. A man who didn’t want to be identified says he’s lived in East Jackson for more than 50 years and he’s never seen this many shootings. He says he believes police are doing what they can, but he’s starting to feel unsafe in his own home. “That’s past crazy that’s ridiculous, it sure is,” the unidentified resident said. “It don’t get no worse than that.” The resident says he’s not afraid to live in his neighborhood, but he doesn’t come out at night.
