JACKSON — What is bad news for workers at a plant in Columbus, Georgia is apparently good news for the local Kellogg facility in Jackson. According to company spokesperson Kris Charles, as a part of “Project K,” a streamlining effort, they are closing their plant in Columbus by the end of 2015. The statement says Kellogg is moving production to other plants. The statement did not say how many of the 325 jobs would come to the Hub City. The Columbus Ledger-Enquirer reported Kellogg will close a cookie plant in Charlotte, N.C., by the end of this year, eliminating 195 jobs.
