NORTH JACKSON — University School of Jackson has a new chief financial officer. Mark Burden, a certified public accountant with 25 years of experience in accounting and regulatory leadership, had his first day at USJ on July 21. “Mark has excellent credentials, a solid background in finance, and a great reputation,” Head of School Stuart Hirstein said. “USJ has remained fiscally sound, but Mark will improve our day-to-day operations and keep the school on firm financial footing year in and year out.” The school’s former finance manager, Jessica Pinkerton, was fired in March for misappropriating funds and pleaded guilty to tax fraud and wire fraud in a federal court last week.
