Man cleared of involvement in Tuesday shooting

EAST JACKSON — A Jackson man first taken into custody in connection to an early Tuesday morning shooting has been cleared of that crime, but is officially charged with another. Poncho Watkins appeared in court Wednesday on a count of simple possession of marijuana. He’s now free on $1,000 bond. The suspect in the shooting on Lindsey Street where a man was hit in the leg remains on the loose.
