Children serenade seniors during sing-off

EAST JACKSON — Thursday was an entertaining day for West Tennesseans young and old. The Laurelwood Healthcare Center hosted a sing-off for children of ages to perform their favorite songs. The kids visited the facility to sing to residents as a part of a month-long youth program where the kids help patients with exercise and other activities. “I thought of a way to generate getting youth adapted into what elderly and mentally ill people are and it’s been beautiful,” Barbara Park, an administrator said. To find out how your child can participate in the youth program, contact the Laurelwood Health Center directly.
