Still no suspect in early morning shooting at East Jackson apartment complex

JACKSON, Tenn.–A second shooting in four days at the Parkway East Apartments in East Jackson sends one man to the hospital and a gunman on the loose. This shooting comes after Jackson police pull extra hours and longer shifts to increase patrols through that neighborhood. “It’s better than it was, people don’t hang out at night time like they used to so I believe it’s bringing a positive change to it,”said Nancy Pearson who lives one block from the shooting. Investigators said this victim appears to have been targeted. He is expected to recover from his injuries. The victim has not provided any useful information that could lead to possible suspects, according to police. Police said there is no connection between this shooting and the one Sunday that left a 17-year-old boy dead. Residents said they do not know what long term solutions might combat crime in the area. “Only thing we can do is keep praying and try to get back on the right track again,” said Parkway East resident Nancy Howard. Police are asking anyone with information that could help to come forward or contact Crime Stoppers anonymously at 424-TIPS (8477).
