Reception for Lane College president to meet community leaders

EAST JACKSON — A special reception was held Thursday night to welcome the new president of Lane College to the Hub City. West Tennesseans came out to meet Dr. Logan Hampton at a gathering hosted by BancorpSouth at its Union University Drive location. City, county and state leaders attended the reception. Dr. Hampton said he is eager to lead Lane. “I want to sustain the success this institution has had 132 years of educating those students who might not have otherwise had an opportunity to receive an education, so I want to sustain that success,” Hampton said. Hampton is the tenth president in Lane College’s history.
