BREAKING: Decatur County Sheriff confirms human skull found by hunters

DECATUR COUNTY, Tenn. — Sheriff Keith Byrd has confirmed a human skull has been found in a wooded area less than 15 miles from property owned by the family of Zach Adams, one of the men indicted for Holly Bobo’s kidnapping and murder. Sheriff Byrd cannot confirm at this time whether this is related to the remains of Holly Bobo. Earlier this year, authorities searched property belonging to the family of Zach Adams at 235 Adams Lane, about 11 miles from where the skull was found. Newly elected Decatur County Sheriff Keith Byrd said that hunters found the skull. He said it will take several days before they know anything about the remains, maybe longer. “We don’t have any indication that it’s her. None whatsoever,” Byrd said. Matt Stowe, the newly elected district attorney, also was on scene. He said he is suspicious about the location. “They’re in a very remote location in Decatur county. It’s not the kind of place you end up by accident,” Stowe said. Holly Bobo disappeared on April 13, 2011 from her family’s home in Parsons. She was 20 years old and a nursing student. She was last seen being led away from the home by an unidentified man. Zach Adams and Jason Autry both were indicted earlier this year on charges of first-degree felony murder and especially aggravated kidnapping in Holly’s death and disappearance. The two men are scheduled to be back in court in December. The TBI announced in June two more arrests in the case. Mark Pearcy and Jeffrey Pearcy are both charged with tampering with evidence and accessory after the fact. TBI agents believe the pair has knowledge of a video of Holly after she disappeared.
