BREAKING: Madison Co. jailer terminated for gross misconduct allegations, sheriff says

DOWNTOWN JACKSON — A Madison County jailer has been terminated Monday afternoon for alleged gross misconduct regarding events from last week, according to Sheriff John Mehr. Sylvia Anderson, a lieutenant with the Madison County Sheriff’s Department who worked at the jail, was terminated Monday afternoon, Mehr said. A criminal investigation is being conducted by the sheriff’s department, Mehr said. No arrests have been made at this time, and no charges have been filed. The investigation is ongoing.
