Jackson fugitive arraigned on murder charge

DOWNTOWN JACKSON — A Jackson man who was recently captured in Indiana was arraigned Thursday on a murder charge. Dontavious Hendrix, 23, was captured Sept. 5 in Indianapolis by U.S. Marshals following a tip about his location, according to a release from the U.S. Marshals Service. Hendrix was arraigned on a second-degree murder charge in Jackson City Court. Hendrix was developed early as a suspect following the July death of Justin Williams, who was found shot multiple times in a yard on North Royal Street in Jackson. Williams was transported to the Madison County General Hospital where he later died. Hendrix is being held on $500,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court at 1:30 p.m. Sept. 18 for his preliminary hearing. Mondarrius Miller, 21, of Jackson, was captured July 28 and also is charged with second-degree murder in Williams’ death.
