Man who went missing in Gibson Co. captured in Arkansas by U.S. Marshals

HEBER SPRINGS, Ark. — A West Tennessee man who sparked an August manhunt in Gibson County has been arrested by U.S. Marshals in Heber Springs, Ark. Lonnie George, 52, was arrested around 6 p.m. Friday and is jailed in Arkansas awaiting extradition, according to Marshals. He was wanted on a probation violation out of Georgia as well as charges in West Tennessee. It is unclear if he will come back to Tennessee or first go to Georgia. George went missing Aug. 20 after Marshals believe he left the scene of a motorcycle accident near Dyer.
