Man faces domestic assault charge after weekend incident in Jackson

WEST JACKSON — A man is charged with aggravated domestic assault after an altercation Sunday in Jackson. Police responded to 465 Vann Drive for a reported domestic disturbance, according to court papers. Officers spoke to a woman who said her boyfriend, Talmadge Crowder, had strangled her twice and punched her in the face during an argument, according to the report. Police say the woman had marks around her neck and that her right eye was swollen. Crowder was arrested and later charged with aggravated assault -domestic violence. Crowder was arraigned Monday in Jackson City Court and is being held on $20,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court at 1:30 p.m. Sept. 22 for his preliminary hearing.
