23 arrested in drug trafficking investigation
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) – Federal and state officials have announced the arrest of 23 people and the search for two more charged in connection with what officials say was a drug distribution ring based in Little Rock.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office; the FBI; and Little Rock police announced the charges and arrests Tuesday.
Authorities say 20 were arrested in Little Rock; one in West Memphis; one in the Mesquite/Dallas, Texas, area; and one in Atlanta. The attorney’s office said an arrest previously reported in Tennessee was in West Memphis.
The other two suspects are being sought in Little Rock.
Charges include conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute cocaine, crack cocaine and marijuana; aiding and abetting the distribution of cocaine; felon in possession of firearms; money laundering; and using a telephone in a drug trafficking crime.
