NORTH JACKSON — A Jackson restaurant server faces a forgery charge for allegedly changing the tip amounts on customer receipts, according to court documents. The owner of the Old Town Spaghetti Store restaurant, located at 550 Carriage House Drive, was approached by a customer who said her receipt total from Aug. 23 did not match the total she had signed for. The owner pulled the receipts and found the server, Danielle Hart, appeared to have changed the tip amount from $3 to $8. The owner said Hart had worked for the restaurant for about three weeks. When he checked her previous receipts, he found several had been changed to benefit Hart in the amount of $249, according to the report. Hart is free on $3,000 bond and is scheduled to be in court at 9:30 a.m. Oct. 9 for her preliminary hearing.
